Do not fear.
Those same 3 words are stated 365 times in the Bible.
That’s one for every day of the year.
It’s not a suggestion, but a command.
Every person that I know deals with fear on differing levels.
As I’ve traced my own journey of fear, I wanted to share with you 10 things that fear causes…
1 – It reduces the size of God and magnifies the size and opinion of man.
Proverbs 29:25 ‘Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe.’
2 – It causes us to retreat from the great things ahead.
3 – It causes us to stay quiet when we should speak up.
4 – It causes us to play it safe rather than embrace change.
5 – It causes us to want to control things rather than trust in God.
6 – It causes us to seek the easy decision rather than the right one.
7 – It causes us to deflect defeat onto others around us.
8 – It causes us to become physically ill.
9 – It causes us to become passive about an issue that has been brought to our attention.
10 – It causes us to settle for second best and miss out on our destiny.
Many years ago, in one of the most difficult times of my life, a man walked up to me and gave me a scrappy piece of paper with these words on. It changed everything for me.
I hope it will change your day too.
Deuteronomy 31:6 “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”
