Fresh Hope – Day 128

James 1:5 ‘If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.’

The meeting at the planning department was heated from the start.

No-one around the table could agree on how we were going to access the site of the proposed new church site in Netherton.

For 15 years previously, the 2 acre site had apparently been sold a few times, only to have the potential owners pull out due to the impossibility of gaining access from the main road.

Planning officers and various professionals had previously gathered around the boardroom table, to each give their negative take on the fact that it couldn’t be achieved.

Finally, a mini roundabout was proposed for the new Champions Church and everyone was happy – well, that was until they later decided it was not such a good idea after all.

Frustration mounted, as the day approached for us all to gather once again.

I had asked the Lord to show me what His solution was to this impossible situation.

Immediately, I took out a piece of paper and drew what I sensed God in His wisdom was showing me.

The little drawing seemed to make complete sense to me and I was sure that I had received supernatural wisdom for something that I knew nothing about.

Now we were gathering yet again at the aforementioned meeting; coffee cups were slammed on the table and voices raised, as yet again no one could come up with a positive solution…that was until I placed my little drawing on the table.

As expected, it was mocked and dismissed out of hand as a non-starter.

I left a copy of it with the planner, just in case he should wish to reconsider my sketch.

…I never was credited by the council as the one that solved the problem that day, but I can’t help but give a little wry smile each time I realise that that very drawing was exactly the design that got passed; to prove it…I have the sketch in my hand.

Maybe, I’ll frame it one day!

Jesus – the master of everything.

Don’t know what to do? Ask God – He knows.
