We spend our lives listening to other people’s conversations.
Sometimes we like what we hear and sometimes we don’t.
How many times to we find ourselves judging people by their speech and by their intentions, but when it comes to us we continually justify our speech, thoughts and our actions as if we were above and beyond the very same rules that we apply to others?
The best way to live life has got to be found in the words of Jesus… Matthew 7:1-5 ‘Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way as you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. ‘Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, “Let me take the speck out of your eye,” when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.’
As of today, take up the challenge to judge yourself first and foremost and in doing so you will have far less time to judge anyone else.
At the end of the day, the most important thing about our lives is to make sure that we are behaving, thinking and being right in our attitude towards God and people.
The next time that you want to judge someone else, firstly apply the same ‘criteria’ to your own life; not only will you find yourself with more friends, you will become a much more likeable person, into the bargain.
Ever wondered why people keep judging you?
Could it be possible that it’s because you keep dishing up judgement towards them?
A daily devotion for a better way of living.
