Fresh Hope – Day 144

How do you receive answered prayer?

The Bible means what it says and says what it means when it says, ‘ask and you will receive’.

But in our asking, we must be definite – otherwise we spread our thoughts and prayers too thinly over so many subjects, in so many different directions that they lead not to answered prayer but to doubt and weakness.

So much of our long praying is spent trying to convince God that we believe what we are asking for, when in reality, we are simply trying to convince ourselves that we believe, when really we don’t.

Get real with your prayer life today. Ask and you will receive, but remember…┬áJames 1 v 6-8 ‘But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like the wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double minded and unstable in all they do.’
