Many years ago, I was travelling on a train from Birmingham to Cradley Heath with a couple of school friends. I was probably about 15 years of age. We sat on the ‘back row’ of the carriage. Shortly after our journey started, we decided to switch seats (as young people do) and sit somewhere different.
As we passed through a station, someone threw a house brick from the bridge above, straight through the window of the train. Guess where all the glass and debris landed? Yes, on the seat where I had just moved from. I don’t want to think what would have happened if I’d have remained in that seat.
“That was lucky”, you may say. I believe it was nothing to do with luck, but in fact it was the Holy Spirit who prompted me to move.
I didn’t recognize that voice then, but I do now.
It’s the precious voice of the Holy Spirit that guides us every day.
If we ask Him to, He will show us which way to take and which way to avoid.
When you wake, ask Him to guide you and when your head hits the pillow, thank Him for His guidance and protection over you that day.
Coincidences are usually God-coordinated incidents that He doesn’t always take the credit for.
A daily devotion for a better way of living.
