Everyone fears a pair of weighing scales when on a diet.
It seems that if you can ignore them, your weight might just go away…but it doesn’t.
There’s only one way to tackle the issue and that is to face up to your weight and make your scales into your best friend.
They will never lie and they will never tell anyone else what they know.
What if we had scales for the levels of our maturity?
Our reaction would probably be just the same, in that we would want to stay off them in case they told us something that we didn’t want to know.
Because there is no such thing, below are six pointers to help you ‘weigh in’ on your level of maturity…
1) Free from offence – do you resolve issues quickly and move on or do your harbour hurt and struggle to forgive?
2) Impartial in how you treat people – do you treat people like you would wish to be treated?
3) Control of your tongue – are you able to hold back words that you know you shouldn’t speak? An immature person talks too much and therefore has little to say.
4) Peace and not conflict – do you always look for the good and believe the best about people or do you like to cause strife?
5) Patience – are you willing to stay the course or do you give up too easily?
6) Keep your word – if you say you’ll be there, are you?
How painful was that?
Weighing in on the maturity scales means that you can now lose attitudes that you don’t want in your life.
If you’re feeling pained about who you are right now, good, it simply means that you have a desire to change.
