In the Bible, we find a well-known story known as ‘The Feeding of the Five Thousand.’
The story goes that a large crowd had followed Jesus and He had compassion on them, and so He began to heal the sick that were amongst the crowd. As the evening was drawing to a close, the disciples noticed that the people were getting hungry and so they suggested to Jesus that He send them away so that they can go into the village and buy some food.
I love how Jesus responds, in Matthew 14:16, “Jesus replied, “They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.””
In other words, ‘I’m glad you’ve identified a problem, now go and be the solution.’
You see, day-to-day we will encounter various problems and challenges, but my question to you is: are you providing a solution, or more importantly, are you being the solution?
Maybe it’s an issue in your workplace or in your home or within your community that continually bugs you because you know there’s a better way of handling it. Let me encourage you today that now you’ve identified the problem, do something about it!
I love the fact that Jesus didn’t need the disciples, their involvement in this miracle wasn’t imperative, but Jesus chose them and He wanted them.
Jesus doesn’t need you today friend, but He wants you.
He’s God, He’s able to do whatever He wants, whenever He wants. Yet, He’s looking for you to make a difference in your world today, no matter how big or small. Jesus wants you to be a part of the solution.
A daily devotion for a better way of living.
