I’m writing this at 4:30am. Not sleeping very well. Call it jet lag or too much coffee, I’m not sure.
I hate being awake in the night. I hate being awake in the dark. I like to wake and it’s morning.
Isn’t it interesting how things can seem worse at night, things can seem bad and we can get fearful?
The mind is a powerful thing. But here’s a truth, you are in charge of your own mind and thinking and although the dark doesn’t help, you can still take hold of those thoughts.
Don’t let yourself be told that things are really bad or that the situation will never get better. Instead, take your thoughts to good things and God-centred thinking.
A thought may enter your head, that you didn’t put there, but it’s what you do with the thought that counts. Don’t let it take you somewhere you don’t want it to go.
You can stop that ‘train of thought’ right now, before it takes you to the next station.
Philippians 4 v 8 ‘Whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is honourable, whatever is holy…think on THESE things.’ Your mind is strong, train it in the right way.
Why go somewhere that’s not good?
Live in pleasant places.
A daily devotion for a better way of living.
