Occasionally, Gillian and myself get a takeaway on a Friday or Saturday night.
Sometimes, it’s just the two of us or for specials, it’s with one or more of our kids.
We all know that feeling, when you can’t face cooking yet again, especially when your taste buds are saying…’give me Chinese or Indian.’
Sometimes that takeaway is just what’s going to hit the spot, and it’s as easy as picking up the phone, ordering your favourite dish and popping out to pick it up.
As you sit there eating, you feel satisfied not only with the food, but also with the fact that you didn’t have to prepare it and there are no pots and pans to wash.
There are also times in our lives when we need a spiritual takeaway.
We sit down on an evening and feel that we crave something good and wholesome to satisfy our spiritual craving.
Just last week I began to think, ‘wouldn’t it be great if we could somehow recommend, and then provide instant and easy access to some of the finest spiritual food outside of being fed at Church on a Sunday morning?’
What if your craving is in the middle of the night as your problems keep you awake, or during the day when you may feel spiritually low? In reality, are you really going to flick the God channels and find just what you need right there and then?
Well…here is the perfect solution to offer everyone of the 1500 strong family of Fresh Hope. (A special welcome to the 70 folk that have joined us for the first time in September).
Below is a link to what I consider to be one of my top 5 teaching videos by the legendary John Maxwell. I know it will greatly inspire and feed you. You just need to set aside 40 minutes to watch it and skip to 35 minutes in.
If it works well for you, then please look out for a fresh takeaway each month.
A daily devotion for a better way of living.
