I once had a dream that I slept through the entire Christmas period!
I missed everything…the gifts, the family, the food, the fun, the rest, the laughter, the love, the Christmas PJs.
That was a BAD dream…to miss an entire season that you love.
Some of you may absolutely love the summer. Imagine going to sleep when the daffodils are up and waking up when the leaves are falling off the trees, you’ve missed an entire season.
How sad this would be, as each season brings with it, its beauty and enjoyment, as well as its hard times.
Sometimes, we can miss the very season that God has for us, because our heart is not in tune with His.
He may have something wonderful prepared for us, but because our hearts are hard, or we may have let bitterness creep in, or we don’t see anything good, it’s possible that we can miss an entire season.
I often come across people who are so ‘tied’ to old seasons, the way it’s always been done and the way we always used to do it, that they miss the adventure of an exciting new season.
God is not boring, He doesn’t do repeats. What He does do, is fresh and exciting and current.
Make sure that your heart is right, make sure that your attitude is right, make sure that your spirit is ready for all that God has for you in this new season.
Don’t be tied to the past, the past has gone.
Embrace it, welcome it, look forward to it and don’t sleep through it.
Remember this, that in your new season, “His mercies are new every day” (Lamentations 3:22-23) and He will walk through it with you.
A daily devotion for a better way of living.
