Fresh Hope – Day 359

One of the longest times that I had ever prayed for something, happened in 1985.

I had started to make prayer lists of things that I was believing God for.

My list would have very specific content based on this verse of the Bible…

Philippians 4:6 ‘Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.’

Each time that I made a specific list, I would place a date at the top of the page, so that I would know how long it took for the prayer to be answered.

I would only remove something or someone from the list when I saw the answer to prayer.

On this occasion, it was four years from praying to the time of receiving the answer.

Since then, I’ve prayed for much longer times before seeing God move in a situation.

‘P.U.S.H…is a great acrostic that will help you to grow some serious prayer muscle during this time of prayer and fasting and beyond.

Pray Until Something Happens.

Jesus told a great story to show us how important this is…

Luke 18:1-5 Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. He said: ‘In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared what people thought. And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, “Grant me justice against my adversary.” ‘For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, “Even though I don’t fear God or care what people think, yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won’t eventually come and attack me!”’

Feeling bad that you keep asking God for the same thing time and time again?

Often, God wants to test you to see if what you’re asking for is really important to to you.

Remember: pray consistently, persistently, and pray specifically.

God loves you to communicate with Him about everything.

Don’t hold back…PUSH.
