Fresh Hope – 28th January 2016

When it comes to technology, I’m an Apple guy. I love my iPhone, however as of late it’s been playing up. It reaches around a third of battery life before it suddenly shuts off with no pre-warning. Now, of course in order for the phone to once again reach its full purpose, it must be plugged in, or in other words, reconnected to the source.

In the book of Matthew, chapter 22, we find Jesus being asked what is the greatest commandment in all the law. Meaning, if you had to summarise the meaning of life in a sentence or two, Jesus, what would you say? And Jesus’ response was that we are to love God & love people -that’s ¬†what life is truly all about.

Now can I suggest to you that we simply cannot accomplish such a thing without first being connected to the source, who is Jesus? You see, love comes from God. God is love defined. And unless we first receive His love, we cannot fulfil our purpose on this earth, which is to love God & love people.

Just like my phone has to be connected to a power socket, which allows power to flow through the charger and into the phone, so must we connect ourselves to God in order that His love may flow to us and also through us.

If you want to reach your full capacity, if you want to fulfil your purpose, then let me encourage you today to lean into and receive God’s love, a love that will transform your life from the inside out.
