Fresh Hope – 16th March 2016

The English language states that the word ‘living’ can be used as an adjective or a noun – a describing word or a thing.

Both definitions or uses have different implications and today I want to ask you the question…which life are you living?

By definition, ‘Living’ as a noun means ‘the state of being alive’ where as the definition of the same word as an adjective is, ‘Having life’ or ‘Exhibiting life.’

I believe that we can find ourselves moving between these two definitions, however we should be firmly fixed in one.

What kind of day are you having? How are you feeling? Is it a ‘state of being alive’ kind-of-day? or maybe today you are ‘Exhibiting life’…?

Jesus said ‘I have come to give you life and life to the full.’

If today you are barely ‘living’ and for you, perhaps, being alive is all you can hope for, let me encourage you to find hope and strength in the love and grace that Jesus so willingly gives us.

I pray that you may have life to the full and that you would not just ‘exist’ but begin to exhibit life…show it off…put on a great display and experience life as Jesus intended us to.
