Some people find it difficult to be happy.
They may get happy for a brief time, but then they slip into unhappiness again.
In the Bible in Nehemiah 8 it says, ‘the joy of the Lord is your strength.’
The enemy of our souls will attack our joy, happiness and contentment. Because in doing so, we lose our strength.
Try to identify what is robbing you.
RECOGNISE it. Name it and shame it and don’t be intimidated by it. Pray about it and declare that God wants me to be joyful, not intimidated by something that is making me unhappy.
Then you should RESIST it.
Nehemiah was rebuilding for God when people tried to stop and intimidate him. He refused to be intimidated by them and he resisted them telling him to stop. He said, “no, I’m not coming down.”
Confront that which is making you unhappy and resist it.
Make a choice to rejoice today. When you start to thank God (even if you don’t feel like it), it’s amazing how that will have a big affect on you.
Your unhappiness will turn to happiness and your sadness will turn to joy.
When you are joyful, you are STRONG. Don’t let the enemy rob you today.
A daily devotion for a better way of living.
