There are many verses in the Bible that tell us to ‘come.’
“Come unto Jesus all you who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest” – (Matthew 11 v 28)
“Come all you who are thirsty and drink” – (Isaiah 55 v 1)
“Draw near to God and He will draw near to you” – (James 4 v 8)
The onus is on us.
We have two dogs, Percy and Snoop. Percy can get called to “come” but he only will, if he feels like it. He has to be in the mood.
Snoop however, will come the moment he is called, he’ll come when you call Percy or anyone else for that matter. He never wants to miss out on any love or potential food.
We can be like that with God. We can take His presence for granted. We should be different. We should crave His presence, knowing that when I get there, I’ll be refreshed, burdens lifted and just the opportunity to sit at the feet of the King of Kings is an awesome opportunity.
I’d encourage you today to get into His presence, linger a while and give Him the devotion He deserves.
Your soul will be fed and uplifted when you just “come”.
A daily devotion for a better way of living.
