Have you noticed that we as human beings can often be inconsistent? One moment we’re this, the next moment we’re that. Consistent living is something many of us strive for but struggle to achieve.
However, I have some good news for you today: who you are doesn’t change who God is. Romans 3:3-4 demonstrates this for us; “So, what if, in the course of doing that, some of those Jews abandoned their post? God didn’t abandon them. Do you think their faithlessness cancels out his faithfulness? Not on your life! Depend on it: God keeps his word even when the whole world is lying through its teeth.”
In other words, when you are unfaithful, God is always faithful. When you are inconsistent in your ways, God never fails to be consistent. He is the same yesterday, today and forever.
And although who you are doesn’t change who God is, you need to know that who God is changes who you are.
I want to encourage you today in all of your efforts and striving to become a better you, to instead make a choice to lean into God. Let everything that is good about Him begin to rub off onto those things that aren’t so good about you.
Allow His faithfulness and His consistency to begin to change you, and I believe that when you do that, you will begin to take your eyes off your own weaknesses and begin to focus them onto His strength.
A daily devotion for a better way of living.
