By the time that Albert Simpson was 38, he’d suffered two nervous breakdowns and a massive heart attack. His doctor told him that if he didn’t stop preaching, he’d be dead before he reached 40. Climbing even the slightest elevation left him breathless. In desperation, Simpson turned to his Bible to find out what it had to say about healing – soon he became convinced that God wanted to heal him. That was the key!
One afternoon while walking in the woods, he looked up and cried, “Jesus, heal me and give me strength to accomplish my life’s work.” Later he wrote, “in that moment, every fibre in me was tingling with a sense of God’s presence and I knew I was healed!”
A few days later he climbed a 3000 foot mountain. Afterwards he wrote,”a world of weakness and fear lay at my feet and from that time on I literally had a new heart and a new life.”
He went on to hold as many as 20 meetings a week, write dozens of books and establish a world wide organisation.
No matter how good your doctor may be, get a second opinion – God’s.
A.B Simpson went on to live to be almost 80.
The promises of God that he believed then, are also yours today.
Claim them and believe God right now.
James 5:15 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven.
A daily devotion for a better way of living.
