Your thoughts can be previews of ‘coming attractions’, unless you do something about them.
When the enemy sets out to destroy you, he always starts with a thought.
Evil thoughts are not yours until you allow them to move in and rearrange the furniture. Left to ramble through your mind, a thought will attach itself to an incident in your past and feed on it, until it becomes like a tumour inside you.
Paul says “…Take captive every thought… To make it obedient to Christ.” (2 Corinthians 10v5).
Solomon said…”above all else, guard your heart, for it affects everything you do.” (Proverbs 4 v 23).
Don’t give evil thoughts any ground in your head. Evict them before they weaken your commitment, and leave you in the Valley of despair.
When we clean the house, we tend to focus only on what others can see or inspect. Just imagine how much ‘mental’ junk we collect, because we think nobody sits in our heads examining our thoughts…but somebody does – God does! He knows your every thought.
Identify your wrong thoughts.
Address them as unwelcome guests.
Fill your mind with good thoughts.
Read the Bible daily, and let it wash your mind clean again.
Psalm 139:1-4 You have searched me, Lord, and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely.
A daily devotion for a better way of living.
