The story of David and Goliath is a pretty spectacular one, where we find two guys going head-to-head in battle. On the one hand, we have David, just a young man, and on the other hand we have Goliath, a giant of a human being.
For most, this was a no-contest. However, to everyone’s shock and surprise, David approaches the battlefront with five small stones and a slingshot in hand, and with one accurate shot, hits Goliath and kills him instantly.
David then goes on to add insult to injury and proceeds to stand above Goliath, take a sword and chop off his head…
I don’t mean to be graphic or gruesome, but I want to turn your attention to the sword that David used. This sword wasn’t David’s sword, nor was it one that he just happened to stumble across. The sword that David used to finish off his opponent was none other than Goliath’s sword.
The very sword that was intended to kill David was the very sword that David used to complete his fight against the enemy.
I don’t know what battles you may be currently faced with, I don’t know what might have come your way, intending to wipe you out and finish you off, but what I do know is that the very thing that was sent to destroy you, is the very thing that God is going to use to bring about victory in your life.
The Bible says that no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and I do believe that that very same weapon will become the weapon that God will use to slay whatever giants come against you in your life.
A daily devotion for a better way of living.
