God wants to be our partner throughout life.
Too often we are tempted to either carry the entire load ourselves or give everything to God and do nothing. God doesn’t like either strategy. Sometimes He moves before us, and sometimes He moves after us – but rarely does He move without us.
Without God…we cannot. Without us…God will not.
Now of course God can do anything He likes all by Himself, but He CHOOSES to use us in the process.
Throughout the pages of the Bible, time and time again we see God encouraging people to step out in faith, so that He can move with them. How many times have you and I desperately wanted God to step out ahead of us, so that we could simply follow in His footsteps? But that requires no faith.
Here are but a few examples of God waiting for us to step out in faith so that He can work with us…
Joshua 3:15-16 Now the Jordan is in flood all during harvest. Yet as soon as the priests who carried the ark reached the Jordan and their feet touched the water’s edge, the water from upstream stopped flowing. It piled up in a heap a great distance away, at a town called Adam in the vicinity of Zarethan, while the water flowing down to the Sea of the Arabah that is, the Dead Sea was completely cut off. So the people crossed over opposite Jericho.
Mark 16:20 Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it.
Matthew 10:8 Heal those who are ill, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give.
Luke 9:1-2 When Jesus had called the Twelve together, he gave them power and authority to drive out all demons and to cure diseases, and he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal those who were ill.
If you are a believer in Jesus, God has given you His power and authority so that you can do mighty things in His name today. You just have to have the faith to step out today.
Waiting for God to move?
He’s waiting for you to move.
Step out today.
