The Bible teaches us that obedience brings blessing.
I’ve had to do some things this week that I didn’t feel like doing, or particularly want to do, but I knew that God was asking me to them.
I know that if God asks me to do something, even when I don’t understand it, He will bring blessing into my life because of it.
So thankfully, on both occasions I obeyed the voice of the Holy Spirit.
Deuteronomy 28 and verses 1 and 2 tell me that if I obey His commands and follow His ways, then all these blessings will come on me and overtake me.
Wow – if blessings come upon me and overtake me, that means I’m surrounded by blessing!
Blessing isn’t always about money. It can be beautiful sunshine, a good cup of coffee, seeing your children happy, meeting a new baby for the first time, seeing someone get well, getting a bargain from the shops, feeling a great sense of peace.
I want to live a life FULL of God’s blessings. Which means that each day I have to be sure I’m walking in His ways and doing what He asks of me.
It’s quite simple really, isn’t it?
Too many people don’t feel blessed. It’s sad.
God wants to bless us all.
