When booking a holiday, you do your utmost to find the best possible destination with the budget you have. Why wouldn’t you?
It’s normal to presume the success and enjoyment of that holiday will be based on how good a destination and hotel you manage to book.
Have you ever though, been to a great destination and had amazing weather, but it still wasn’t the best holiday? Maybe the dynamics of the people you went with didn’t quite work, or you yourself were just not in a great place?
Having dreamed and planned the vacation for so long you come home really disappointed and regretting spending so much money on the trip.
How true in life that we can seek success in the best possible destination, i.e. new job, better car, but it doesn’t make us happy because it’s the same us in the new job or car.
‘Happiness is not a destination. It is a way of life.’
How true this saying is; we’re always looking for the next event to bring us closer but we never seem to arrive. Learn to enjoy and make the most of where you are. Stop focusing on a change in circumstance but a change in your soul!
Once, on being asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, “The coming of the kingdom of God is not something that can be observed, nor will people say, ‘Here it is,’ or ‘There it is,’ because the kingdom of God is in your midst.”
People have always been waiting for some future event to right the world. We can stop waiting, because the kingdom of God is in our midst.
I encourage you today in whatever your need or future dream is, make sure you’re not missing out on what God has for you right now, today!
A daily devotion for a better way of living.
