We all have a bit of a crisis plan, don’t we? Have you prayed a panic prayer? I know I have. We know what to do when things go wrong. However, I’ve been thinking about what we do when we’re in seasons of abundance; work is amazing, your marriage is the best it’s ever been, you’re seeing a record number of breakthroughs etc.
I don’t know about you but when I feel as though everything is going right, I praise God for it and go on with what I’m doing.
Today, I’m challenging us to take a slightly different approach. I wonder how our circumstances would look, if we really opened them up to God. It’s easy to shut God out of areas of our lives where we feel that everything is just right and there’s nothing more He can do for us. We say things like “it just doesn’t get better than this.” Or “I don’t need God to bless that more than He has. I don’t want to be greedy.”
Let me remind you that God has a limitless supply of whatever it is you need. Don’t let contentment trick you out of seeing God do more in your life.
“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.”
See the word ‘generations’ in that verse? There’s always more to your blessings than just you. Let’s start to imagine and believe for greater today. God is able.
