If I asked you where the richest place in the world was, I wonder what you’d say?
For some, our minds would immediately think of some of the cities that we’ve seen on TV or even been to ourselves. New York, Los Angeles or even London would probably be high on the list, but they would all be wrong. The richest place in the world is in fact…the cemetery!
It’s not because people are buried with their earthly valuables, but because they die with their greatest treasure, which is their unfulfilled dreams.
In the graveyard, there are songs that were never written, cures that were never developed, buildings that were never built and lives that were never changed, all because of the fear of failure. So many dreams are taken to the grave unrealised. Just imagine how different the world could be today if we were able to dig up all of the dreams buried in every cemetery and bring them to life.
We know of course that we can’t do that, but one thing that we can all do is to be determined to live out the dreams that we have while we are alive.
Let’s not make the graveyards any richer by being afraid to ever fulfil the reason that God placed us on this planet.
You are alive today to make a difference, so be determined from this day forward, to live FULL and die EMPTY.
Proverbs 24:30-34 One day I walked by the field of an old lazybones, and then passed the vineyard of a lout; They were overgrown with weeds, thick with thistles, all the fences broken down. I took a long look and pondered what I saw; the fields preached me a sermon and I listened: “A nap here, a nap there, a day off here, a day off there, sit back, take it easy—do you know what comes next? Just this: You can look forward to a dirt-poor life, with poverty as your permanent houseguest!”
A daily devotion for a better way of living.
