Mark 1 vs 40-42
A man with leprosy came to him and begged him on his knees, “If you are willing, you can make me clean.”
Jesus was indignant. He reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!” Immediately the leprosy left him and he was cleansed.
Many of us get disappointed with God because we don’t get our prayers answered immediately.
We don’t always get what we want, when we want it, because that wouldn’t be right.
As a parent you know that to be true in your parenting.
You don’t allow your children everything they want all of the time and at the times they always want it. Because, as a parent you have more wisdom and you know what’s best. Even though at times, your children don’t understand!
How much more does God know what’s best for us and at what time we need the answer?
The verses we read at the start showed an immediate answer. “The leprosy immediately left him.”
Here was an urgent need and God answered at the perfect time.
You may not understand when the perfect time is, but God does.
So keep praying – yes.
But keep trusting.
God knows what He is doing, because He is God.
If you’re waiting, there’s a reason.
Thank Him in your waiting.
Thank Him that He knows what is best.
A daily devotion for a better way of living.
