There are three stories in Luke 15.
There’s the story of the shepherd who has 100 sheep and one goes missing, so he leaves the 99 to find the one.
There’s the story of the lady who has ten coins, but she loses one and so she leaves the nine and searches for the coin that’s missing.
Then there is the story of the father who has two sons, one stays with him, the other leaves his father’s home and squanders all his inheritance. The father will not rest until the one son is back.
Jesus will leave the 99 for the one.
Jesus will leave the 9 for the one.
Jesus will leave the 1 for the one.
The ONE is important to God.
I love this thought: We may feel it’s unfair for Jesus to leave the 99 and look for the one, until we are the one that he leaves the 99 for.
We may automatically think, ‘why would God be concerned about the one?’ However, that is the nature of God.
He is interested in the one. He is interested in you.
If you are sad, He’s interested in you today,
if you are depressed, He’s searching for you today,
if you are struggling He’s reaching out for you today,
if you are sick He is attracted to your situation today.
Because God is interested in the one.
Don’t ever feel like you don’t matter to God. You do.
It doesn’t matter where you’ve been and what you’ve done, God is interested in you, yes you.
Be encouraged today. God is looking out for you and He is looking after you.
A daily devotion for a better way of living.
