Happy new year!
Those very words will have been spoken 100s of times already, but the question is do they have any power? The answer in short is NO!
Nice though they are, and in comparison to saying to someone that you hope they will have a rotten new year, ‘Happy’ new year comes out on top, nevertheless those words are still powerless.
Wishing, hoping and dreaming are all good, but may never change any given year as you’ve already found out from the one that’s just ended. In reality, the sooner that you realise that you need God in your life the better.
Here’s the key to success in 2019: ASK FOR HELP!
God always has and always will be attracted to a person in need of help. He is not repulsed by your need, but is in fact drawn to your need.
Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.
Are you simply going to have yet another year of living to merely survive or are you going to desire to thrive this year?
What you can tolerate in your life, you cannot change. Live being mindful of how brief life is. “It feels like only yesterday when I…” is a statement that we all make quite often.
Remember that the definition of insanity is ‘doing the same thing time and time again whilst expecting different results’. A better year is not going to happen by chance but by change.
Before us all today is a brand new sheet of paper. You and I have the opportunity to write a new chapter with our lives. What will it sound like? What will it look like? What will it read like? Ask yourself right now, where am I going? What am I doing?
If you’re looking for the kind of life that you’ve only ever dreamed of, then look no further. Jesus is the answer. You don’t have to understand everything about Him or the Bible, you just have to reach out to Him with an open heart and desire to know Him personally. Call on His name right now.
Isaiah 9:6 ‘For to us a child is born….And he will be called Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace’.
Here’s to a brand new you!
Why not make a plan to join the Champions family at Church this coming weekend and make a fresh start. Every Sunday 9.30am or 1130 am.
I look forward to welcoming you and your family.
A daily devotion for a better way of living.
Happy new year!
