There is no doubt that God loves us. It doesn’t matter who you are, what you’ve done and where you’ve been…God has unconditional love for us.
As an earthly parent there are times when I may not always like what my children do, but it doesn’t mean I love them any less. How much more then does God give us that unconditional love?
So we need to agree that He loves us, but I wonder what He thinks about us?
You see, I love all of my three children the same, yet I think differently about them.
For instance as a parent , you may think of one child as untidy or cheeky, or maybe one is rebellious or lazy. Maybe you think they are kind and loving, maybe one is bright and always cheerful.
Have you ever stopped and wondered what God thinks about you?
In the Bible it says this
Acts 13 v 22
‘After removing Saul, he made David their king. God testified concerning him: ‘I have found David son of Jesse, a man after my own heart; he will do everything I want him to do.’
Wow. That’s what God thought about David. A ‘man after His own heart’ and an obedient one at that.
You see, you and I will confess God… “God you are faithful, you are loving, you never let me down, you are my friend, you’re always with me” etc
Yet here, God is confessing David!
What’s your reputation like with God? What is He saying and thinking about you?
Even if you think it can’t be good, He still loves you.
However, desire to have a good reputation with God. Desire to not only be loved by an Almighty God, but have a great reputation with Him also. I want God to think good of me. I want Him to know He can trust me.
When Jesus was baptised, His Father (God) said “ this is my beloved son, in whom I am well pleased.”
God testified that David was a good man and followed Him with all His heart.
What is He saying about you?
A daily devotion for a better way of living.
