Money talk can be a taboo topic. We see money as a private matter and consequently many people suffer in silence, never developing a healthy relationship with their finances.
Money is a God matter. Money is mentioned over 800 times in the Bible. Strategic, intentional, savvy, stingy, stressed – we all fall somewhere on the money-management spectrum.
If we don’t follow God’s model on money, then we may struggle to find freedom in finances. God has called us to be masters of our money, not let money master us.
Money is a tool to do good things. Yes it can be misused, like anything, but when it is surrendered to God, it can have a powerful and positive impact on the lives of others and generations to follow.
Some creative ways to empower you in your money situation:
3. Consider your motivation for buying something. Is it to prove something? It is to gain approval or status? Is what you a purchasing an investment (beneficial for your long term), or a liability (temporary gain, for long-term loss).
4. Get God’s mentality on money. Romans 12:2 says, Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.’ – This includes your mentality on money!
God has called as to adopt a wealth mind-set. Wealth is more than riches or money, it is believing that God has the ability and the desire to provide for you – money, resources, strength, and wisdom in any area where there is lack!
Remember whose you are. You are a child of the King of kings, not a child of a pauper!
Psalm 24:1 – ‘The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it’.
