Psalm 103 9-13
He will not always accuse, nor will He harbour his anger forever. He does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the Heavens are above the earth, so great is His love for those who fear Him. As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him.
Do you have a problem letting go?
I’m amazed at how many people let small things have a big impact on their lives. Some of the offences and wrongs that we hang onto are so small in the grand scheme of things and yet we waste our energy ‘stewing’ over things.
I heard someone say recently, ‘will this matter this time next week? If the answer is no, let it go.’
”Oh” you may say, “it will matter”. Okay, let’s go back then to the verses at the start of this devotion…
He (GOD HIMSELF) doesn’t treat us our sins deserve, or harbour anger.
He removes our sin FAR from us because of His great love FOR us.
If God can do it, why am I different?
If God can forgive me and you for every wrong thought, action, word or motive, then what makes me bigger than God?
It’s time my friend to let it go.
Give it to God, not to several other people.
If you can’t let it go, the Bible teaches us that the person we need to speak with is the person who offended us and only them. (See Matthew 18 v 15)
Today, be thankful for what God did for you and apply the same grace.
There’s a beautiful promise that will come to your life when you do. (Matthew 6 vs 14-15)
A daily devotion for a better way of living.
