With all that’s going on around us at the moment, it’s easy to be feeling unsettled and overwhelmed.
Here are three verses of scripture that I hope will inspire you as you draw closer to God and experience His peace.
Isaiah 26:3 | “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.”
God promises us peace in exchange for our trust. Steadfast means to be ‘firm’ and ‘unwavering’. So cut out distractions. Make a decision to take God at His word and stay focused on His promises.
1 Peter 5:7| “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”
To ‘cast’ means to ‘throw’. So name your troubles and give them to the one who can really change them. If you throw a ball, it’s out of your hands. So when you let go of your anxieties, don’t go and pick them up again.
Philippians 4:6&7 | “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
These are such powerful verses because it shows how practical we can be in experiencing God’s peace. When we do pray, give thanks and bring our requests to God, an exchange takes place.
Be encouraged today. We don’t have to beg for God’s peace, it’s already there for the taking. Whether we declare and walk in it is our choice.
A daily devotion for a better way of living.
