Yesterday, I shared a few ideas around arising to the occasion during this current crisis and shining our light as the church. The top tips continue below. Let’s see this season out, carrying strength, peace, power, sensibility, and love in the process!
5. Look for opportunity.
Leaders see problems as opportunities. There is a once in a lifetime opportunity here for us right now. There is an appetite now for answers, and spirituality. People don’t need hype, they need hope.
This is a moment, a window, where we can build trust with people. How we hold ourselves and carry ourselves during this will determine our relationship with them in the future…people are watching. You can build credibility with people by how you manage yourself through it. This will pass.
6. Be ready
Be ready to answer tough questions, be sharp and discerning – look for opportunities to love and serve others, guard your mind, be watchful, be vigilant, be realistic, don’t just be positive, be hope driven (hope means you know there IS a God looking after you, not you wish/fingers crossed there is a God looking after you).
7. As you isolate
Let’s be honest, there are a lot of negative things we could focus on right now, but for the sake of our mental health, we must focus on the once in a lifetime opportunities this situation also brings with it. As you physically isolate don’t just sit around watching screens for hours a day. Take the isolation as an opportunity to rest well, reflect, think deeply, process, having meaningful phone conversations with people, be creative, pray, do those things you never thought you would get the time to do, send a care package to someone. Use this time as well as you can. Take the unique opportunities that this crisis brings.
NOW IS YOUR TIME!
A daily devotion for a better way of living.
