God’s timing is perfect! He is never late, nor early. We operate in time, God doesn’t. Whenever I have been impatient about something happening, I always look back after the event and think “wow, God was spot on!” Of course He was, He’s God.
In Mark chapter 5 we read about a man called Jairus who came to Jesus because his daughter was sick and I mean, very sick. He pleaded with Jesus to go with him… in verse 24 it says that Jesus did.
However, en route, Jesus is distracted by a desperate woman who has been ill for 12 years. Her situation was hopeless and she was helpless. Let me stop right there and tell you that Jesus is attracted to helpless & hopeless situations! So He heals the woman…awesome. But then is late for the little girl and when He gets there, she is already dead. Was Jesus late, or was He right on time?
In our thoughts and thinking, He was late but to God, absolutely not.
You see, Jesus can do whatever He wants to do, whenever He wants to do it and with whoever He wants to do it with.
So my friend, never question the timing of God. Just trust.
It says that people were wailing and crying and telling Him He was too late (vs 40). It also says that “Jesus put them out!” He wanted no unbelievers around when there was a miracle to do.
Today, be a person of trust. Be a person of faith. And when you are tempted to think God has got His timing wrong, be reminded of this account and listen to the words of Jesus (in verse 36) to those who were worried and afraid “Don’t be afraid, just believe.”
God has never got it wrong yet and He never will.
A daily devotion for a better way of living.
