“Behold I am doing a new thing… do you not perceive it?” Isaiah 43 v 19.
It’s a new season! Yes it is. September is the month of something new starting. Summer has gone. Autumn is on its way. In the natural, the nights are getting slowly darker, the leaves are changing colour, the weather is cooler and the children are back at school! We have to adapt to a new season. We have to wear different clothes. We have to put the lights on, maybe light candles and put on the heating. We cannot hold on to summer even though we want to. It’s gone.
Another season has just passed. A season of lock-down. A season of strangeness. A season that we have never experienced before. Maybe for you, it was a season of anxiety and concern. We have to get ready for the new season.
God is about to do something new and fresh. How do I know that? Because everything the enemy meant for evil, God will turn it for good. You can’t embrace or enjoy a new season, if you’re still in the mentality of the past. You can’t fully enjoy autumn, if you’re still hanging onto summer clothes and thoughts of long summer evenings. Some of us are still hanging on to fear instead of stepping out in faith.
God wants you to let go of your anxiety, your concerns, your fear and TRUST HIM for the new season. “I will build my Church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it” – that’s an awesome statement. It’s from God! It’s from His Word. We’d better believe it!
So today, decide in your heart. The old season has gone, I’m ready for a new one… and then show God that you are, by your words and actions. Declare over yourself and your household, God’s word… and don’t miss what God is wanting to do in YOUR life.
A daily devotion for a better way of living.
