In 2 Kings 6, we read the most amazing account of Elisha. The enemy, the King of Aram, is wanting to constantly attack the King of Israel and God’s people. But Elisha enquires of and hears from God and tells the King of Israel the enemy’s strategy.
The King of Aram is mad and furious that he keeps getting robbed of the win, so he is out to get Elisha. He sends hundreds and even thousands of troops to take out one man!
BUT, he hadn’t understood this principle, that if God is on your side, the enemy can’t touch you. In verse 15 Elisha’s assistant says “Oh no my Lord, what are we going to do?!” I love Elisha’s response in verse 16 “Don’t be afraid, those that are with us are more than those who are with them.” Is Elisha crazy? There’s two of them and thousands of enemy troops. No, Elisha understands the fact that when GOD is on my side, nothing can touch me.
Today, my friend, it doesn’t matter how big your enemy is, or may seem, understand that when you have faith in God. (Notice, he declares his faith “those that are with us are more than those against us”). God will turn up for you.
The entire enemy was struck blind and Elisha was safe.
Don’t underestimate the power of God. Don’t declare a loss before you have seen your victory.
A daily devotion for a better way of living.
