What is your Red Sea right now?
The Israelites stood on the edge of what seemed an impossible barrier – a sea. (Exodus 14:29-31).
The Egyptians were closing in on them from behind.
There came a moment where the Israelites had to trust their God to do the impossible. To defy natural order. God had to make a way – literally. And He did! A miracle wind blew the Red Sea into two walls of water, allowing the Israelites to walk through the impossible, before the water crashed in on their enemy! (Sound crazy? Well they have actually discovered in recent years the weapons and armour of the Egyptians at the bottom of the Red Sea!).
Perhaps you are standing on the edge of a Red Sea so to speak – an impossible situation where only God can make a way.
Perhaps you’re feeling claustrophobic as you feel the enemy closing in on you.
Our God is the God of the impossible. He can defy natural order. He can part your Red Sea, but there has to be a moment of trust. A moment where you call on God to do what is far beyond anything you could do. Have faith that He is able.
Don’t forget that timing is everything. Had the Egyptians been any closer, and they would have got the Israelites. Had they been too far off, and they would not have been swept away. God’s timing for a miracle is never late, but always on time.
A daily devotion for a better way of living.
