Isn’t it interesting how life’s circumstances can affect different people in different ways?
Unfortunately, bad stuff will always happen to good people… yet, it’s how you let it affect you that matters most.
Jonah is a classic story of one man in the middle (literally) of a major situation. Many of you will know that Jonah, due to his disobedience, got swallowed by a great big fish.
It’s in those moments of desperation, those moments of stress, those moments of trial, that we have the choice to determine how we come out of the situation.
Jonah decided in those crucial moments to praise God anyway and be sorry for his wrong actions.
“When my life was slipping away, I remembered God, and my prayer got through to you.”
Verse 9: “But I’m worshiping you, God, calling out in thanksgiving! And I’ll do what I promised I’d do! Salvation belongs to God!”
A very powerful choice… Because what happened next was an awesome demonstration of the God of the second chance.
There were 2 ways out of that fish… He could have come out the back way, chewed up and bitter, but his attitude caused him to come out the front way, better.
Make the right choice today and come out of your situations better, not bitter.
A daily devotion for a better way of living.
