When anything happens to you in life, you make a response.
For instance, when you get given something, you respond with “thank you”. When you see a friend, you respond with a hug. When you see a wonder, you say “wow”.
When bad things happen, you also respond. When something bad happens, you get upset. When an injustice happens, you get angry. When your circumstances are bad, you get frustrated.
Everything in life brings a response.
Whatever is going on in your life today, I challenge you to respond with thankfulness.
1 Thessalonians 5 v 18 ‘Give thanks in ALL circumstances, for this is God’s will for you’.
Why do we think that we should respond with thanks in ALL circumstances?
Take a look at this…
If you receive something today, whether it be your dinner, or someone opens a door for you, or someone gives you a million pounds…respond with thankfulness.
If you see someone you love, be thankful you have that person in your life.
If you see a newborn baby, or a beautiful flower or a magnificent mountain range, respond with thankfulness to the Creator of all.
When something bad happens, instead of being upset, be thankful that God’s plans for your life are still good.
When you see an injustice, instead of anger, say “thank you Lord that although I don’t understand this, you are still the King of Kings and Your will, will be done.”
And if your circumstances are bad, instead of getting frustrated and apportioning blame, be thankful that God still loves you and He has your life in the palm of His hand and He will work everything out for good.
This is what it means to be thankful in ALL circumstances.
Respond with thankfulness in every situation and see what a difference it makes.
A daily devotion for a better way of living.
