In the book of Genesis in the Bible, we read a story about a young man named Joseph who had a dream.
This dream caused a lot of controversy within Joseph’s family and saw his brothers turn against him.
From the time that Joseph received this dream from God, to the time in which he saw it fulfilled, he had to go through a process.
It’s important to understand that there’s no progress without a process.
And without a process, there’s no success.
Here’s how the process looked for Joseph:
-His brothers threw him into a pit and decided to sell him, having originally intended to kill him
-Having been sold on again, he now lived with Potiphar, one of Pharaoh’s officials and he found favour with his master
-The wife of Joseph’s master saw that he was handsome and pleaded to sleep with him, but Joseph continually refused, until one day she pulled off his cloak & Joseph ran away
-The master’s wife then accused Joseph of rape and had him jailed
-After many years, he was let out of jail, as he had the ability to interpret dreams
-He then became second in command to Pharaoh
-And after 13 years, Joseph became Prime Minister of Egypt
Quite the process…
We can confidently assume that many times, Joseph would’ve thought that his dreams would never come to pass, that they were over. But every intricate detail of the process was intended by God.
Think about it like this… Joseph would’ve never reached his destiny, had he not have been left in a pit.
But so often, we want to be Prime Minister without first spending time in a pit or prison.
Today, I want to encourage you to keep going towards your dream and destiny, after all, a pit simply stands for ‘Person In Training’.
A daily devotion for a better way of living.
