Think for a moment about your wardrobe. Not the physical piece of furniture but the contents of it. Maybe you’re into fashion, maybe you’re not bothered but one thing that most of us have in common is that an item or two is our absolute favourite. When you wear this particular item, you may feel confident, turn heads and receive compliments. You don’t wear it just to go shopping, you save it for best.
So often, we do this with God. It can be easy day-to-day to take things on for ourselves and sometimes, not consider Him at all. Maybe you do the same job everyday, so you don’t always pray specifically about your day.
Have you ever saved God for ‘special occasions’? We don’t invite Him to the menial moments of our lives because they’re not a challenge but when we’re believing for something MAJOR, that’s when we dust our faith off, from the back of the wardrobe and wait for that ‘wow’ feeling, of when God shows up.
Truth is: every day is a favourite jacket day. The Bible says to ‘pray without ceasing and give thanks in all circumstances’, so that must mean that God wants to be involved in every moment of our lives.
He is waiting to turn the mundane into the miraculous, if we’ll only take the time to ask Him along.
A daily devotion for a better way of living.
