Matthew 6:34 says ‘Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.’
It’s completely normal to worry but it is not something that God wants you to live with.
At the beginning of a new week, it is quite possible that you have already thought ahead to how the next few days are going to pan out. You may be wondering where you will go, what you will do and who you will encounter.
If you are anything like me, you plan your week and make a note of things that you need to get done. There will definitely be things on your list that you would rather avoid.
Don’t allow worry to spoil the day that God has for you. We can live in the peace that no matter what, God goes before us. We can’t go ahead in time to make sure that everything will be okay… but He can. Matthew 6:34 is a reminder that God’s grace is sufficient for every single
day of our lives. He has everything that we need ready for us, if only we will ask. So replace your worry with prayer.
Today, I encourage you to take your day and invite God in. It may be something that we only do in passing but God is in the detail and cares about even seemingly insignificant things. Worry does not add one second to our lives but when we hand our cares to God, He steps in to
do what we can’t.
A daily devotion for a better way of living.
