When a successful person retires from their profession, you will often find them being interviewed about their career. They will relook over the highs and the lows, the successes and the failures, and almost every time, you will find them being asked one question…’Do you have any regrets?’
Now, one thing that every human being has in common is that we all make mistakes. We all go through challenges. We’ve all done something that we wished we hadn’t have. However, we have a decision to make – whether we live in regret of these things or not.
Mistakes will either cause you to become better or bitter. I do believe that in every mistake, in every challenge, and in every trial, there is something within it that can teach you a lesson.
I read an article recently with Bear Grylls and he said, ‘You control whether or not you fail.’
You can either allow failure to knock you down and keep you down, or you can allow it to be the catalyst that brings you back better and stronger than before.
I want to encourage you today to get the benefit of the lesson without having the burden of the regret.
There is nothing in your life that God won’t work out for your good and so you don’t have to wait for the mountaintops of life to arrive, for we understand that our most fruitful days may well be in the valley.
A daily devotion for a better way of living.
