If you’re making a difference, expect to be criticised!
If you’ve never been criticised, don’t take it as a compliment, but more as a sign that you are not doing anything.
Criticism is just proof that your influence is being felt. You are also in good company…Jesus was always coming under heavy fire from His critics.
When gospel singer Carmen held a concert at Mardi Gras he was severely criticised for mixing with unsavoury people. But he answered, “isn’t the darkness supposed to flee from the light, and not the light from darkness?” So he held his concert and 100’s came to faith in Jesus.
It’s impossible to keep every body happy all of the time, in fact don’t even waste your time trying. Just concentrate on pleasing God.
When a hawk is attacked by the crows, it never counter-attacks. No, it simply soars higher and higher, until the pests live it alone. Stop trying to please your critics, but rather circle above them on the wings of faith and don’t let them bring you down to their level.
Remember…you attitude and example will do more to change people’s minds about you than all the arguments you put up against them.
Romans 12:19-21 Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: ‘It is mine to avenge; I will repay,’ says the Lord. On the contrary: ‘If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.’ Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
A daily devotion for a better way of living.
