One of my favourite things at Christmas to read in the Bible is the story of Philip who went to talk to the Ethiopian Eunuch. (Acts chapter 8 vs 26 onwards).
What’s that got to do with Christmas, you ask?
This: it reminds me that at a very busy time of year when we can get so focused on what WE have to do, that we can actually forget what we are SUPPOSED to do.
Philip was on his way somewhere, when God instructed him to go somewhere else. To talk to someone who needed help in understanding about the Scriptures and God. Philip, we read, went way out of his way to do what God had asked of him.
The result? The man found Christ and got baptised.
You could say that was a result.
Then we read that Philip ‘suddenly’ got taken away by the Spirit of God and taken to the place he needed to be.
That’s why this always blesses and speaks to me at a busy time of year…If you do what God has called you to do, and make way for Him… He will get YOU where you need to be and people will get blessed along the way.
“Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you” (Matthew chapter 6 vs 33)
A daily devotion for a better way of living.
